Bring

Please note that we will be a long way from the nearest town and shops, so you need to bring everything that you need. This is what we suggest:

  • Passport (and visa if applicable)
  • COVID Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kit and face mask (just in case)
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • Clothes for all seasons.  Shorts for hiking in good weather.  Evenings can be very cool; it may rain, but we still go walking.  We suggest multiple layers including warm windproof jackets plus long trousers and waterproof over-trousers if you have them
  • Walking boots
  • Pens and notebook
  • Plug converter for Slovenian sockets (220V, 50Hz) https://world-power-plugs.com/slovenia
  • Laptop and charger cable
  • Camera and download cable
  • Binoculars/scope (if that way inclined)
  • Hiking poles (if, like me, you need them)
  • Day pack for walks
  • Water bottle
  • Ear plugs (you will probably be sharing a room!)
  • Euros and credit card
  • Toothbrush
  • Medications
  • Pyjamas
  • Forceps (in case of ticks) or tick remover
  • Band Aids/Elastoplast (in case of blisters)
  • Hard copy of a statement of your travel insurance (you might be covered by your employer; purchase of travel with your credit card might cover you; or you might purchase your own cover)
  • Hard copy of the details of our local contact (Mirjana Šipek), your hotel in Ljubljana and our venue (Eco hiša Na razpotju)
